What is this all about?

WhereAreYouCamping.com has the simple mission of helping you find your friends on the playa.

How do I find my friends and their camps on this site?

You can browse through the list of registered users and camps or just use the handy filter box. Type in a part of your friend's name or a camp name and watch as the list gets shorter and shorter.

Why should I sign up for an account?

Registering as a user on the site lets tell everyone who needs to know where you are camping. It also allows you to manage your list of friends (see favorites below).

How do I sign up?

Click the 'sign up' link at the top right, fill the form and you're as good as done.

What are favorites?

You can use favorites like bookmarks to create a list of the very special people you know you'll want to find at Black Rock City.

How do I print out my favorites?

Easy! Just click the 'printable version' link at the bottom of the list and use your browser's Print command to send it to your printer. You do have a printer, right?

How do I join a camp?

If you are logged in and you've already found your camp on the list just click the camp's name to see the main page for the camp. At the bottom of the page you'll have the option to join this camp.

What if my camp is not on the list?

In that case you should tell us all about it! Make sure you are registered and logged in. Click the 'join a new camp' link at the bottom of the camps list. Type in your camp's name (watch for the auto-complete feature, your camp may actually be in the list after all) and click the 'join' button.

So I joined a camp, am I now an official member?

WhereAreYouCamping.com is only a tool to let others know where you will be camping and is in no way affiliated with any of the camps listed on the site. If you want to join a camp, you should probably contact the camp's organizers.

What else can I do to make sure my friends can find me on the playa?

Register with Playa Info as soon as you hit Black Rock City.

Can I add more details about my camp?

Of course you can! In your camp's page click the 'edit' link, this will allow you to tell us about your camp's location, give a short description and what events you have planned. You may return to this page at any time to add/change details.

How do I switch camps?

Simply join a different camp.

Can I belong to more than one camp?

Nope.
